Giulia is a Grierson shortlisted filmmaker with 7 years experience making short documentaries. Her recent projects include shooting and researching for Barbara Santi's BFI supported feature documentary PROTEST, location scouting, camera assisting EPK and working on set for new BBC + Amazon series CHLOE directed by Alice Seabright (Sex Education) and self-shooting and directing her debut feature documentary. Her latest project has seen her collect stories from across the country on a journey from her hometown, north to Scotland following the disappearance of her family's dog with a homeless veteran (Gone To See a Man About a Dog - learn more at www.gonetosee.co.uk).

Her background and BA in Graphic Design has given her a fundamental understanding of how to build a story and communicate an idea in the most suitable medium. During her second year she pitched a winning idea for an NHS app which progressed to clinical trials in the South West of the UK. Shortly after, she interned at four graphic design studios across the country and pursued an MA in Film & Television at Falmouth University. During this time she self-shot and directed her debut documentary (Babies & Bellyboards, 2017) which premiered at IOMFF and saw her shortlisted in the top 8 student short documentaries in the country at the prestigious annual Grierson Awards. Later that year she was Longlisted for Best New Director at WSFF and was awarded The Emily Hobhouse award from Falmouth University which supported her initial work on a series of short stories shot across Lebanon. The first of which has been shortlisted for Ocean Film Festival's World tour (HIMA, 2020) as well as being selected to screen at Arab Women Film Festival in Denmark (2021) and WomenX (2021).
